Frequently Asked Questions

We look forward to welcoming you to one of our events in the near future! If you have any questions, please check out these frequently asked questions to see if we can answer it for you. If you don't find what you are looking for, please feel free to contact us using the information below, or on our social media, @UKSAB.

It depends! Typically, to ensure our students get priority, if an event has limited supplies, long wait times, or giveaways, guests are allowed to attend, but cannot participate in the activities. We have many events that are open to the entire Lexington community.

The event descriptions and social media posts normally indicate if guests or community members are invited, but if you're not sure, please feel free to ask!

Typically, all we need is your Event Pass or UK ID. If you need anything else, we'll be sure to let you know. Bring what you need to feel comfortable and enjoy your time!

All SAB events, whether on- or off-campus, fall within the jurisdiction of the University of Kentucky Code of Conduct, and are often staffed by event security/UKPD.

Please use your best judgement when deciding what you bring to SAB events.

Of course! We want you to be comfortable and be able to participate in our events. We are willing to make every reasonable accommodation possible.

Please email publicrelations@uksab.org with your name, the event name, and what accommodations you are requesting, preferably at least 48 hours prior to the event. We will work with the DRC if needed.

For more on special/accessible accommodations, please visit the UK Disability Resource Center's website.

As you may know, finding parking can sometimes be difficult. Even so, most of our events are not held during UK's peak times, meaning that there is usually nearby parking.

To help find parking, please visit UK Parking and Transportation's website, and be sure to check lot/garage signage to avoid getting a ticket.

Even better, take the free campus Blue, White, and Yellow Route buses for safe, free, and fast transportation to and from popular campus locations. Click here for information on campus bus routes!

The great majority of SAB events are free to all UK students.

Exceptions typically only include ticketed events, which pre-sales will allow you to purchase tickets in advanced.

Unless otherwise noted, you don't need to pay anything at most SAB events.

BCTC students can attend SAB events if they have opted into paying the UK Student Activities Fee.

If you are unsure that you have paid the fee, please check with your tuition/financial aid department for help.

We are located in Suite A265 in the UK Gatton Student Center. For more information, please visit the "visit our office" on our home page. If you're lost, shoot us a message on social media, @UKYSAB, or ask for help at a Student Center info desk.

To best serve our students, our events are typically all in different locations. Please check the event poster/graphic for more information.

If you need to get in contact with us, please visit the contact us page for all of our information!

That's awesome! Please visit our Get Involved page for information on how to apply to be a part of the SAB team.

Questions? Email vpinteralaffairs@uksab.org.

We love collaborations, so much that we have a whole page for it! Please visit our collaborations page for all the information you need, and more.

There is none! The University of Kentucky wants us to make sure students enjoy their time at UK, and that they feel that there is always something that is safe and enjoyable for students to do.

With over 80+ events per year, we strive to make sure there is an event for everyone, typically at no cost. We like to say that, "not every event may appeal to everyone, but there is an event for everyone!" Pretty cool, huh?
